BlackRock Plans $250 MM Debt Offer
BlackRock announced on Thursday that it is offering $250 million in convertible debt. The debt will bear interest at 2.625 percent annually, and be convertible on February 10, 2010. The firm will use the funds raised to repay monies used for the State Street Research & Management acquisition as well as general corporate purposes. "Vanguard Top 401(k) Performer" by Scott Burns states that a list of the nation's top mutual funds finds four of the top five positions held by Vanguard. Other winners include: T. Rowe Price's Equity-Income rose from 11th to 8th, Fidelity's Contrafund moved from 15th to 12th, and Putnam's Voyager A climbed to 18th from 21st. There were declines as well. Neuberger and Berman Guardian Fund went from the 12th spot to the 20th, and American Century 20th Century Ultra declined to the 17th position from the eighth slot.
