A C-suiter at a giant, publicly traded mutual fund firm is being highlighted as an influential younger leader in finance.

Céline Dufétel, the 39-year-old chief financial officer of T. Rowe Price [profile], is one of the "40 Under 40" "emerging leaders" in finance on Fortune's 2020 list, which was released yesterday. This year, for the first time, the list has actually been multiplied into five lists, each with 40 names. (Beyond finance, the other categories are "government and politics," "healthcare," "media and entertainment," and "technology.")

Before joining T. Rowe three years ago, Dufétel worked at Neuberger Berman and McKinsey. She also served in the French navy.

Fundster-adjacent executives on Fortune's new list include: 39-year-old Keia Cole, head of digital experience at the insurer MassMutual (which has a multi-manager mutual fund arm and is a big backer of Invesco); and 37-year-old Paul Shoukry, chief financial officer at Raymond James (parent of Carillon Tower Advisers).
