At AllianzGI, Agbabian managed the company's Agricultural Trends strategy, which had $150 million in assets. Allianz GI's
Agricultural Trends Fund will transition to a new SDG-aligned

Parker is a senior portfolio manager, managing director, and CIO Equity US with Allianz Global Investors. Millar is a director, analyst and portfolio manager at Allianz Global. Shibin Xie is also a portfolio manager. He and Millar work together in the Global Equity team and report to
Steve Berxa, Global CIO, equity, and global head of research.
"The Food Security strategy will offer clients access to an attractive fundamental investment case while also offering an additional free option of positive social and environmental impact. Transitioning to Food sustainability responds to our commitment to continually rethinking our value proposition to make sure we meet clients’ demands."
Robin Pertusi, an AllianzGI spokeswoman, told
MFWire.
AllianzGI's previous strategy, the Agricultural Trends Fund, "has become out of date," and it was decided that it should be substituted for "one that is aligned with UNSDGs associated with world hunger and food safety issues, and with higher return potential," Pertusi said.
Agbabian departed as a result of the transition, Pertusi said, adding, "We are grateful for his contribution to AllianzGI's success over the years."
Prior to joining Allianz, Agbabian was the vice president at McMorgan and Company, a research analyst at Montgomery Asset Management, and the vice president of Brookhaven Capital Management.
Agbabian graduated from UCLA with a bachelor of arts in economics and from USC Marshall School of Business with an MBA.
