Week In Preview, July 16-22

Reported by Neil Anderson, Managing Editor

At 8:30am this morning, leadership of New York City-based BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager (and the world's largest ETF shop) will host its Q2 2018 earnings call, featuring: CEO Larry Fink, president Rob Kapito, and chief financial officer Gary Sheldin. BlackRock reported its Q2 2018 earnings earlier this morning, reportedly beating expectations. Yet at least one analyst, Craig Siegenthaler of Credit Suisse is worried about BlackRock's net flows and is calling the titan's results "modestly negative".

The one-day conference, will feature a host of speakers, including: Steve Bannon, former White House chief strategist and Trump campaign CEO; Mary Callahan Erdoes, CEO of J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management; Suni Harford, head of investments at UBS Asset Management; Kristi Mitchem, CEO of Wells Fargo Asset Management; and Cyrus Taraporevala, president and CEO of SSgA.

On Thursday, also in Gotham, the ExchangeTradedFunds.com team will host the 14th annual ETF Global Awards Dinner & Workshop, this time at the Sheraton New York Times Square. The afternoon workshop speakers are expected to include: Julie Abbett, executive director at J.P. Morgan Chase; Bernd Henseler, head of Americas and managing director of Solactive Americas; Mike Castino, senior vice president of U.S. Bancorp Fund Services; Manuel Fajardo, chief investment officer of Ocean Capital Advisors; Gabor Gurbacs, director of digital asset strategy at VanEck; Kevin Kelly, co-founder, CEO, and managing partner of Benchmark Investments; Toby Loftin, founder of TriLine Index Solutions; Matt Markiewicz, managing director of Innovation Shares; Kevin Quigg, chief strategist of Exponential ETFs; Ryan Radloff, co-principal of CoinShares; Anita Rausch, head of capital markets at WisdomTree; Will Rhind, founder and CEO of GraniteShares; Rahul Sen Sharma, pardnet at Indxx; William Stush, managing director and head of institutional trading at Flows Traders; and Scott Szever, director of exchange traded products at the NYSE.
