An RIA sales chief at a giant bank's mutual fund arm just hired a wholesaler in California.

Ron Cohen, head of DC I-O and RIA sales at Wells Fargo Asset Management [profile], confirms that at the beginning of December he brought on Mark Linnecke as a West Coast wholesaler for the RIA channel. Cohen says he has no plans to add more RIA wholesalers for now; he now has five RIA wholesalers in the field, including Linnecke.

Linnecke most recently served as vice president in the financial institutions group at Neuberger Berman [profile], doing business development and client service for RIAs and family offices.

"We have a strong commitment to the market and will announce the results of the candidate search when appropriate," Neuberger spokesman Alex Samuelson tells MFWire.

At Wells, Cohen confirms that Linnecke fills a spot left open by Kyle Najarian, who went to OppenheimerFunds earlier this year.

An alumnus of UCLA, Linnecke first worked at Neuberger back in 2007. He later worked at Janus and AMG before rejoining Neuberger two years ago.

Cohen took over DC I-O and RIA sales for Wells the the spring.
