An Eaton Vance Exec Takes a Top Spot at Hartford

Hartford Mutual Funds [profile] has named Jac McLean, 43, as head of distribution. In this newly created position, McLean will be responsible for retail sales, institutional sales and key account management.

"Jac has an extensive background in sales and distribution," stated Jim Davey, executive vice president of Hartford Mutual Funds. "He has developed strong relationships over his 20 years in the industry and he will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow and develop our mutual funds business."

According to the company, McLean began his career at MFS and held positions of increasing responsibility during his 16 years at the firm. Most recently, he served as head of U.S. retail and offshore sales at Eaton Vance. He left that position in May, 2012.

The appointment follows the recent hiring of Gregory Frost as CFO.

The news attracted the attention of Bloomberg this morning.
