Today, the Stork was laden with so many funds that it had a hard time flying.

Pruco Life Insurance [profile] filed for its AST MFS Large-Cap Value Portfolio and AST Western Asset Emerging Markets Debt Portfolio. These funds will commence operations on August 20, 2012. The MFS Large-Cap Value Portfolio will invest in large-cap and be advised by MFS Company. The AST Western Asset Emerging Markets Debt Portfolio will invest in fixed-income securities and be advised by Western Asset Management. [SEC Filing]

Transamerica Investment Management [profile] filed for its Transamerica Enhanced Muni Fund and Transamerica Income & Growth Fund. The Transamerica Enhanced Muni Fund will be subadvised by Belle Haven Investments and managed by Matthew Dalton. The Transamerica Income & Growth Fund will be subadvised by Ranger International Management and managed by William R. Andersen. [SEC Filing]

Global Funds filed for its a series of Global X Consumer ETFs.The ETFs seek results that sync with their corresponding Solactive Indexes. There will be ETFs focused on Latin America, Africa and Asia. The funds will be managed by Bruno del Ama and Jose Gonzalez. [SEC Filing]

Shenkman Capital Management filed for the Shenkman Short Duration High Income Fund which will invest in fixed-income securities in order to generate current income. The fund will be managed by Mark Shenkman and Nicholas Sarchese. [SEC Filing]

FlexShares filed for its series of Quality Dividend Funds. Six funds will be released. Northern Trust Investments serves as the investment adviser to these funds. The funds will be managed by Chad Rakvin and Shaum Murphy.[SEC Filing]

iShares [profile] filed for its iShares Latin American Bond Fund. The fund will invest primarily in U.S. dollar-denominated bonds and correspond with the Barclays Latin America Bond Index, The fund will be advised by BlackRock Funds Advisors and managed by James Mauro and Scott Radell. [profile]

The Reaper finally closed a couple of funds today.

Today, August 17, 2012, all of the assets of MFS [profile] Growth Portfolio will be transferred to the MFS Growth Series. Shareholder of the MFS Growth Portfolio had decided on August 9, 2012, to fold the MFS Growth Portfolio into the MFS Growth Series. A previous "Stork and Reaper" had noted the original filing that the funds would be reorganized. [SEC Filing]

Also, Natixis [profile] liquidated the Natixis Oakmark Global Fund. [SEC Filing] And finally, other funds are being reorganized.

AllianceBernstein [profile] filed to add Michael Mon to the management team of the AllianceBernstein Short-Term Government Bond Portfolio, [SEC Filing]

Credit Suisse [profile] has replaced Peter Little, PM to the Credit Suisse Liquid Alternatives Fund with Sheel Dhande and Alexander De Foo. [profile
