Columbia Management [
see profile] just awarded a brand new sub-advisory mandate to a firm within the family. Today the Boston-based
Ameriprise subsidiary revealed that it will add another Ameriprise firm, London-based
Threadneedle, as the second sub-advisor for the
Columbia Multi-Advisor International Equity Fund [
see filing], even as the fund swallows two siblings.
The MFWire could not immediately reach a Columbia spokesperson for comment on the move.
Threadneedle is slated to start PMing the European growth equity portion of the portfolio on April 11, only three days after Columbia merges its
International Growth Fund and
International Stock Fund into the Multi-Advisor International Equity Fund.
Marsico will continue to serve as a sub-advisor to Multi-Advisor International Equity.
Threadneedle's pan-European equities team leader,
Dan Ison, will join Marscio's James Gendelman and Columbia's Fred Copper and Colin Moore (chief investment officer) as co-PM of the Multi-Advisor International Equity Fund.
