Janus Capital has sold its remaining stake in DST Systems, Inc. The Denver-based fund firm had held 9 percent of DST shares following its initial divesture last year. At one time Janus and its predecessor Stilwell Financial owned 34 percent of DST.
Janus revealed the sale in an 8-k filing with the SEC.
According to the filing Janus sold its remaining shares to an unidentified buyer on Monday for $336 million. The fund firm will release a $208 million after tax gain on the sale. The transaction will give boost Janus' second quarter earnings by $228 million, or $100 million after taxes.
