Earlier this month, a new top strategist has come aboard at a $1.21-trillion-AUA (as of December 31), $326.3-billion-AUM (as of March 31) Emerald City fund firm.

In mid-June, Al Caesar joined Seattle-based Russell Investments as chief strategy officer. He most recently served as head of strategy for U.S. businesses at Prudential Financial.

A spokesperson for Russell writes to MFWire, "Al brings more than 22 years of corporate strategy and investment experience to Russell Investments. He will support and drive the execution [of] our global strategy, leading our strategic planning, corporate development, and corporate communications functions."

In 2017, Caesar was promoted to chief strategy officer in the individual solutions group for annuities and life insurance, where he remained until 2018. That year, he was promoted to his last position with Pru as head of strategy.
