State Street Research & Management Company has announced two new positions in its equity department.

Jeffrey R. Lindsey has been named chief investment officer - growth investing and Peter A. Zuger has been named chief investment officer - value investing effective January 1.

Lindsey will be managing the firm's $8.9 billion growth business which includes small, mid and large-cap core and growth products. Zuger's will be managing the $6.9 billion value business which includes also includes the company's energy products.

Lindsey joined the firm in September 2002 as managing director and head of the large-cap growth team with direct portfolio management responsibilities for several institutional accounts and the State Street Research Legacy Fund.

Zuger, joined State Street Research in 1998 as a senior vice president and head of the firm's large and mid-cap value teams. He was also portfolio manager for the State Street Research Large-Cap Value and the State Street Research Mid-Cap Value Funds. Since then, he has been promoted to managing director and was tapped to oversee all of the firm's value efforts.
