Eikenberg Adds Two Industry Vets to RBC GAM

The U.S. intermediary team at RBC Global Asset Management [profile] gained two new directors this summer.

Marcel Dawson began working with the firm last month out of Charlotte, North Carolina as director for the mid-atlantic and southeast regions of the U.S. Kristin Coons (nee Benz) came to the firm in July as director for the western region of the U.S. and will work from Manhattan Beach, California.

Dawson and Coons will both report directly to Dave Eikenberg, head of U.S. intermediary sales.

Prior to joining RBC GAM, Dawson worked as the director of business development for the RIA southeastern division at Allianz Global Investors. He left the company in April. Dawson is also the CEO and founder of RIA.xyz, a market network specific to the RIAs channel.

At RBC GAM, Dawson covers 13 states in the south central and southeast regions and the Washington, D.C. area. He will be responsible for building and servicing relationships with RIAs, regional bank trusts, and multi-family offices.

Dawson has more than 14 years of experience in the RIA field. Prior to his time at Allianz, he worked at Principal Global, Pioneer, and Columbia Threadneedle.

Prior to joining RBC GAM, Coons served as director of capital markets at PeerStreet. Rebekah Jack, marketing manager of PeerStreet, declined to comment on Coon's departure.

Covering 11 states in the western region, Coons will have the same responsibilities as Dawson.

Coons has more than 15 years of investment professional experience. In addition to PeerStreet, Coons worked at Sentinel Investments, Western Asset Management, and Payden & Rygel. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona.
