Waddell & Reed Management Group has announced a number of new promotions.

Nikki Newton has been promoted to senior vice president and director of defined benefits. Andrew Thinnes has been promoted to vice president of institutional marketing and client service and Clayton Johnston has been promoted to vice president of institutional client service.

Thinnes joined the company in 2000 as managing director of sales and client services to the sub-advisory, defined contribution and institutional/intermediary marketplaces. Johnston joined Waddell & Reed from Evergreen Timmberland Investment Management.
