Bill Ferri just hired a product strategy chief for UBS Asset Management. Terry Jones joins the asset manager as head of product strategy & innovation, MFWire has learned. He reports to Ferri, head of products and solutions, Asset Management Americas.

Jones, formerly the president of institutional products at Highland Capital Management, has almost 30 years of financial experience in the industry in creating and managing funds. A spokesperson for Highland could not be immediately reached for comment on how Jones' duties are being handled. At Highland Capital Management, Jones aligned Highland’s objectives of portfolio management with respect to recognizing and evaluating risks.

At UBS, Jones will be the motivating force for innovation-oriented design and implementation. Sheryl Lee, an external communications representative at UBS, tells MFWire that Jones will oversee product strategy in addition to maintaining UBS’s existing infrastructure and product shelf. He will be presiding over two New York based analytics teams: the Investment Performance Analytics team and the Pricing team. UBS Asset Management is a global investment manager with a presence in 22 countries.
