New York office as a partner. Jeffrey Hammes
, chairman of Kirkland's global management executive committee, and John O'Neill
, partner in Kirkland's New York office, confirm

the regulatory agency a year ago. More recently he served

At Kirkland, Champ joins the 100-plus attorneys in the private funds group. That group includes the investment management practice, which focuses on alternatives, broker-dealers, commodity pool operators, commodity trading advisors, financial services mergers and acquisitions, hedge funds, investment advisors, spinouts, and mutual funds.
"I'll be focused on two areas," Champ tells MFWire

Champ describes working with Kirkland as an "opportunity to join an outstanding group of lawyers with just a tremendous practice." He looks forward to "the opportunity to work with lots of clients and look at all sorts of issues."
An alumnus of Princeton, the University of London, and Harvard Law, Champ spent nearly 11 years at Chilton Investment Company before joining the SEC. Prior his work at Chilton, Camp worked at Davis Polk & Wardwell and clerked for Charles Haight of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
