Stop me if you've heard this before: exchange-traded products are continuing to grow in popularity.

According to a Bloomberg article, a record $183.3 billion was invested in ETPs this year, bringing the industry's total assets to $1.34 trillion. The previous high year for ETP investments was $175.6 million in 2008.

Reporter Christopher Condon also details some of the new products launched this year, discussing fund firms including BlackRock and Pimco.
