SSgA Finds a Sub-Advisory Chief Within

Reported by Neil Anderson, Managing Editor

State Street Global Advisors just switched sub-advisory chiefs. Today the Boston-based asset manager revealed that Steve Coyle now serves as head of the U.S. sub-advisory business within SSgA's intermediary business group, succeeding Michael Dalis.

A spokeswoman for SSgA confirmed that Dalis is no longer with the firm. Coyle, a three-year SSgA veteran who previously served as vice president of U.S. sub-advisory business development, now reports to senior managing director Anthony Rochte.

Coyle first joined SSgA in 2007 after spending 14 years at MFS.

Company Press Release

BOSTON, Jun 15, 2010 -- State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the investment management business of State Street Corporation, today announced the appointment of Steve Coyle as head of the US Sub-Advisory business within its Intermediary Business Group. Coyle will report to Anthony Rochte, senior managing director at State Street Global Advisors.

Coyle, who is responsible for client service, sales and relationship management, will work closely with SSgA Funds Management, Inc. to help manage a growing client base and their use of exchange traded and other investment products.

"We are very fortunate to have Steve on board to help enhance our capabilities in our Sub-Advisory business," said Rochte. "Steve's experience and focus on business development with insurance and mutual fund companies, defined contribution record-keepers and other third-party distribution partners will serve our clients well."

Coyle joined SSgA in 2007 and has been instrumental in developing SSgA's Sub-Advisory business. Prior to joining SSgA, he was senior vice president and director of Sales for MFS where he spent 14 years.

SSgA's US Sub-Advisory Group seeks to help a wide range of asset gatherers build and strengthen their businesses.

"Our expertise in sub-advisory services is built with a combination of broad product offerings, a flexible-low cost platform and skilled client support," Rochte added.

Backed by the full range of SSgA's asset class capabilities and global reach, SSgA's US Sub-Advisory business also integrates other State Street services such as accounting, custody, fund administration, transition management and commission recapture.
