Chris Thompson has left Putnam Investments and is set to join Columbia Management next week. Thompson will start next Monday as head of product management, reporting to Columbia president Mike Jones.

Putnam is in the process of finding a replacement for Thompson, who served as head of investment product management and reported to Jeff Carney. Thompson left last week.

"We are looking at internal and external candidates for the best possible replacement," Putnam spokesperson Jon Goldstein told The MFWire. "We expect to have an announcement soon."
