Advisors rate PIMCO
the highest among mutual fund firms for manager experience and knowledge, according to kasina
's second benchmarking survey of 3,003 financial intermediaries. PIMCO/Allianz Funds rose from third place in Q2 2009 to first place in Q4 2009. Fundsters may not be surprised, given the fame of superstar Pimco fund manager Bill Gross
, whom The New York Times
called "the nation's most prominent bond investor."
came in second place in the survey, and Ivy Funds
, Black Rock,
and Natixis Funds
came in third, fourth, and fifth. Advisors were asked specifically to rank 21 mutual fund companies. The findings are a part of kasina and Horsesmouth's FA Vision
service, and came from data obtained between October 19 and November 12, 2009.
