Nuveen Investments has hired David Levi, formerly with AllianceBernstein, as managing director for global business development. New York-based Levi will also serve as co-head of Nuveen's national accounts team alongside Anthony Ciccarone, who was most recently head of Nuveen's SMA product management.

Levi started at Nuveen on September 28 and reports to Carl Katerndahl, executive vice president and co-head, Nuveen Investments' global private client group.

Levi was most recently head of global business development and marketing at AllianceBernstein Investments. He previously worked for Legg Mason.

A spokesperson for AllianceBernstein was not immediately available for comment on how Levi's former duties are being handled.
