ALPS Fund Services has added three senior personnel to its team. Sean Amann, JoEllen Legg and Dana Smith will join the IT, legal and tax departments, respectively.


ALPS Fund Services, Inc., a leading provider of outsourced and advisory solutions to the investment management industry, today announced the addition of three senior personnel to advance the company’s continued growth. Sean Amann, JoEllen Legg and Dana Smith will join the IT, legal and tax departments, respectively.

“We’re pleased to welcome Sean, JoEllen and Dana to the ALPS family,” said Ned Burke, President of ALPS Fund Services. “Each of these professionals brings to us deep industry experience in their respective fields, and will be excellent additions to our existing team and to the work we do for our client-partners.”

Details on new hires can be found below:

Sean Amann – Senior Manager, IT Operations

Sean has eight years of experience in information technology, and will manage ALPS’ IT Operations staff. Before joining ALPS, Sean served as Director of Information Technology at SunGard IWORKS in Aurora, CO., where he was responsible for the management of IT support and staff. Previous positions at SunGard IWORKS include Network, Database and Technical Support Manager and Consultant. Sean earned his J.D. from the Strum College of Law at the University of Denver. He holds an M.S. in Computer Information Systems from Regis University and a B.S. in Finance from Metropolitan State College of Denver.

JoEllen Legg – Associate Counsel

JoEllen has nine years of experience practicing law. Immediately prior to joining ALPS, JoEllen was Senior Counsel at Adelphia Communications, where she was responsible for all reporting and SEC documentation, in addition to coordinating management/Board compliance regarding all public company disclosure and governance issues. Prior to this, she held associate positions at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson and later at Patton Boggs. JoEllen earned her J.D. (magna cum laude) from The Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America. She holds an M.A. in Russian and Eastern European Studies from The George Washington University, Elliot School of International Affairs and a B.A. (summa cum laude) in International Affairs and Government from Eastern Washington University.

Dana Smith – Senior Tax Manager

Prior to joining ALPS, Dana was a Tax Partner for Smith Srsich Spielman & Clark LLC where she was responsible for individuals, small business and multi-state corporate taxation. She began her career in 1988 with Price Waterhouse where she worked with a diverse group of clients, many from the financial services industry. Dana is a Certified Public Accountant and received her B.A. from Rice University in Houston, Texas and her Masters in Taxation from the University of Denver.
