After four years on the job, Steven Pisarkiewicz
is picking up stakes from BoNY Asset Management
and returning to his old haunt at AllianceBernstein
The Financial Times
reported that he will take over as national managing director for AllianceBernstein's new global family office group.
The bank is the sponsor of the $3.3 billion family of BNY Hamilton Mutual Funds.
Pisarkiewicz jumped from AllianceBernstein -- where he had spent 14 years and had risen to chief investment officer -- to BoNY in 2003 to take over the asset management from Newton P.S. Merrill
, who was retiring.
During his tenure at BoNY, Pisarkiewicz oversaw two high profile acquisitions that expanded the banks expertise in the hedge fund and alternative investments space. Those deals included the purchase of London-based Alcentra Group, a debt manager and Plymouth, Pennsylvania Urdang Capital Management, a REIT manager.
His return to Alliance comes as Mellon Financial and BoNY ar putting the finishing touches on the merger of their asset management arms. That deal is expect to be complete by early July, say sources at the company.
Bruce Van Saun
, head of the bank’s market-related businesses, and Larry Simon
, vice chair of Ivy Asset Management, will assume Pisarkiewicz duties.
