Friday, March 11, 2005 401(k) Investors Continue to Chase Opps Abroad Although Hewitt Associates' monthly report on 401(k) participant trading notes that February transfer activity in 401(k) plans was on the low side, participants that did transfer assets favored international equity investments. Participants transferred only 0.04 percent of balances on a daily basis, compared to 0.05 percent for the same month last year, 0.07 percent for 2003 and 2002, and 0.06 percent in 2001. According to Hewitt, participants favored emerging market and international equity funds, moving more than $125 million net to international stock funds and $70 million net to emerging markets funds.
