Wednesday, March 9, 2005 Schwab is Next on AFL-CIO Hit List The AFL-CIO is making Charles Schwab its next target in its Social Security lobbying. The decision to pressure the San Francisco-based broker was confirmed by AFL-CIO spokesman Steven B. Weingarten to The Kansas City Star. Earlier this week Waddell & Reed said it would not renew its membership in the Alliance for Worker Retirement Security. It had also been targeted by the union's campaign.
