Monday, January 31, 2005 SSgA Taps Insider to Head Firm William W. Hunt has been named president and chief executive officer of State Street Global Advisors. Hunt replaces Timothy B. Harbert, who died in August 2004. Prior to heading SSgA, Hunt was head of State Street's Global Relationship Management group. Hunt joined State Street in 1994 as managing director of the company's Tokyo office, then was promoted to CEO of State Street's Japan business.
