BoA Promises Beantown 300 More Jobs

Bank of America will relocate 300 more jobs to Boston in 2005 to build out its wealth and investment unit, the company announced in a release on Thursday.

The jobs affected include positions at Columbia Funds adviser Columbia Management, as well in operational units such as the Wealth & Investment Management group's legal, marketing and finance departments.

Bank of America spokeswoman Alex Liftman declined to comment on how many jobs within Columbia Management would be relocated; Columbia Management is based in Boston.

"Hundreds of talented investment management executives responsible for leading one of the company's four major business lines will soon be gathered [in Boston]," stated Brian Moynihan, president of wealth and investment unit.

BoA committed to relocating 100 positions to Boston in September.
