Vanguard Extends Trading Privileges

Effective yesterday, Vanguard started accepting orders from all investors up until 4 p.m. The extension of the trading day for index and international funds gives Vanguard’s smaller customers an extra hour and a half to make trades.

Trading between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. was previously allowed only to shareholders with more than $1 million in Vanguard funds.

Vanguard has 126 domestic funds, including variable annuity portfolios, and another 35 funds in international markets. The trading extension will level the playing field for its 17 million institutional and individual shareholders.
