Tuesday, February 3, 2004 Rydex Hires Insurance Head From Putnam Jane M. Mancini has been named executive vice president, sales and marketing of Rydex reporting directly to the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Carl Verboncoeur. Mancini will focus on building Rydex's financial intermediary business, including its broker dealer, registered investment advisor and variable annuity channels, as well as on continued diversification of the firm's product line. Mancini is currently chairman of the National Association of Variable Annuities (NAVA). Most recently, she was a managing director and head of the $40 billion insurance business at Putnam Investments. Before joining Putnam, she was president of SunLife Distributors, the insurance and 401(k) business of SunLife Financial. While there, Mancini presided over the launch of SunLife multi-manager and fixed annuity product line, which achieved sales levels of $750 million by the end of its second year.
