An Ex-Mellon Distro Leader Joins an AM Incubator

A former Mellon distribution leader is joining a U.S. asset manager incubator's leadership team. The startup (which launched back in March) has also created an advisory board with three members to start.

Today Des Mac Intyre, managing director of Eolas Capital, confirms that Alex Over has been appointed as director, head of distribution, and investment committee member. Effective June 1, Over now reports to Mac Intrye (who also serves as chief investment officer and co-founder) and is a shareholder in Eolas.

Like Mac Intyre, Over is a Mellon Investments Corporation alumnus. (Mac Intyre served as chairman and CEO, while Over served as global head of distribution.)

Meanwhile, Eolas now has its own advisory board, with three members to start: Bob Collie, a former Willis Towers Watson and Russell research leader who serves as principal of Collie ESG; Tony Kao, managing principal at SECOR Asset Management; and Cynthia Steer, founder and CEO of Irident, and a former leader at BNY Mellon, Russell, and Rogerscasey.

"I have known each of these executives for many years and am confident they will help Eolas and our future affiliates grow and thrive," Mac Intyre states.

Over, an alumnus of City of London University, previously previously led global sales and product strategy for Standish Mellon Asset Management. He also served as CEO of Standish Mellon's UK arm and helped establish Standish Mellon's Singapore arm.
