Nations Funds Names Chief

Trustees of the Nations Funds have named a new chief for the fund group to replace Robert Gordon. Gordon left employment at the firm after emails he authored where used as evidence of wrongdoing by New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer in his complaint against Canary Capital Partners.

The board named Edward Bedard, currently chief financial officer of Nations Funds, to take over Gordon's duties as interim president and chief executive of the Nations Funds. Bedard's appoint was disclosed in a filing with the SEC.

Also disclosed in the filing was the appointment of Gerald Murphy as interim chief financial officer to replace Bedard. Murphy is currently treasurer of the fund group.

Nations Funds are the retail fund brand of Charlotte, North Carolina-based Bank of America.
