Rogers Continues Gemini's Sales Expansion


Gemini Fund Services is doing all it can to kick its sales and distribution up a notch.

The servicer has just hired Kyle Thorberg to serve as an internal wholesaler. He will be responsible for qualifying leads for the sales team.

Gemini has also transitioned Skyler Steinke, formerly an internal wholesaler, to a new role as assistant vice president of business development overseeing the southern region. Assistant vice presidents of business development Jace Schuppan and Chris Walker oversee the northeastern and western regions, respectively.

These three external wholesalers will be responsible for engaging with prospects generated by Thorberg.

Thorberg was most previously an account manager at Gemini’s sister company, Orion Advisor Services, LLC (Orion), a portfolio accounting service provider.

The moves are the latest step in Gemini's efforts to bolster its distribution function, as outlined to MFWire earlier this month.

GEMINI ADDS KYLE THORBERG AS INTERNAL WHOLESALER

  Expanded Sales Team Will Grow Client Base and Deliver More Efficient Client Service

  HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. — August 1, 2013 — Gemini Fund Services, LLC (Gemini), an engaged partner to independent advisors as a provider of comprehensive, pooled investment solutions, has expanded its sales team with the addition of Kyle Thorberg as an Internal Wholesaler. His appointment is part of Gemini’s efforts to restructure its sales team in order to better serve customers and expand its national client base.

  Mr. Thorberg is based in Omaha, Neb., and reports to Eddie Lund, Vice President of Business Development at Gemini. He is responsible for qualifying leads for the sales team. Mr. Thorberg was most recently an Account Manager at Gemini’s sister company, Orion Advisor Services, LLC (Orion), a premier portfolio accounting service provider. Prior to joining Orion, he spent eight years as a Seller Risk Senior Agent at PayPal.

  As part of the sales team expansion, every member will have an enhanced role that focuses on his expertise. Mr. Thorberg will use his Salesforce.com proficiency to customize the enterprise cloud computing platform’s sales and customer relationship management (CRM) applications. Mr. Steinke will continue to grow Gemini’s social media presence. Mr. Schuppan will search for new business opportunities in external mutual fund trusts. Mr. Walker is in charge of expanding current partner relationships and developing new relationships.
