Neuberger Board Gets Chic


Dr. Joyce F. Brown, president of the Fashion Institute of Technology, has received appointment to the board of directors of Neuberger Berman. The head of the New York City college of art and design, business and technology is also chief executive officer of the Educational Foundation for the Fashion Industries.

"Neuberger Berman is honored to have an individual of such high esteem who will add new dimensions of experience and perspective to our board," said Jeffrey B. Lane, president and chief executive officer of Neuberger Berman. "Joyce Brown is not only a well respected professional in the educational arena but also a leader in numerous community, civic and professional organizations."

She became both the first woman and the first African American to be president of FIT in 1998. Prior to that she was acting president of Bernard Baruch College and vice chancellor of the University. She was also professor of clinical psychology at the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York, where she is now professor emerita.
