Wednesday, June 8, 2011 Fundsters and Advisors Set a Record at the Morningstar Conference This year's Morningstar Investment Conference in Chicago has attracted a record 1,650 attendees, said Morningstar founder and CEO Joe Mansueto in his opening remarks Wednesday afternoon at the McCormick Place. The figure includes 183 exhibitors and sponsors. The 23rd annual investment conference will run through 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Introducing the keynote speaker, Pimco's Bill Gross, Mansueto said that back in the day, when Gross was not as popular as he is now, he would refer to Gross as the Peter Lynch of bonds.
