State Street Names New CFO

State Street Corporation today named Edward J. Resch its executive vice president and chief financial officer, reporting to David Spina, who is chairman and chief executive officer.

Resch succeeds Ronald O'Kelley, who left State Street in March due to personal reasons, and replaces interim CFO Stefan Gavell, an executive vice president.

"Ed has spent more than 25 years in financial management positions for some of the world's leading financial companies," said Spina in a release.

Resch jumped over from New Jersey-based Pershing, a Credit Suisse First Boston subsidiary, where he was managing director and chief financial officer.

Boston-based State Street has $770 billion in assets under management.
