Tuesday, August 31, 2010 Russell Buzz Goes Local A report that surfaced in the trade press last week stating that Northwestern Mutual was mulling over the possibility of selling Russell Investments [see profile] has been picked up by the Puget Sound Business Journal. In the Business Journal's BizTalk blog yesterday, staff writer Kelly Giblom followed up on last week's InvestmentNews article, which reported that Northwestern was "seriously considering putting the business up for sale." Russell spokeswoman Jennifer Tice told Giblom the same thing that a Northwestern spokesperson had told InvestmentNews: Russell is not for sale. The chatter surrounding Russell comes as the firm is preparing to relocate its headquarters from Tacoma, Washington to Seattle.
