Targeting the Small Investor

More Enron Hearings
Tomorrow, the Education & Workforce Subcomittee on Employer-Employee Relations will be back and holding hearings on Enron. Sam Johnson (R-TX) is the chairman. The committee will be examining issues relating to limiting company stock in 401(k) plans, senior executives selling their stock during blackout periods, and clarifying regulations that make sponsors responsible if something does happen to the plan during a blackout period.

Forward Lowers Initial Investment
Forward Management has lowered the minimum initial amount for investing in its funds from $2,500 ($250 for retirement accounts) to $100. By lowering the intial investment, the firm hopes to attract more small investors.
