At Schwab, Mutual Funds Talk to Cox (For Clearing)

Thanks to a Schwab Institutional reorg, mutual fund clearing now reports to a new boss, Trish Cox. Schwab spokesman Mike Cianfrocca confirmed that Cox, formerly head of services and technology for Schwab's giant advisor services unit, now serves as the first general manager of corporate brokerage services, overseeing designated brokerage, investment-only (I-O) sales and stock plan services, as well as mutual fund clearing.

Meanwhile, Bernie Clark, formerly head of sales for Schwab advisor services, now leads the whole unit. Clark and Cox report to Jim McCool, executive vice president of Schwab Institutional Services. Jon Beatty, who worked with Clark on the advisor services sales team, now leads it in Clark's stead, while Cox's old services and technology teams now report to Clark.

Cianfrocca declined to describe the specifics of Cox's new executive team, but he insisted that there "no significant changes" in the businesses she now overseas.
