Deeper Ties with Edward Jones Creates Sales Jobs at a Boston Fund Firm

Edward Jones added MFS to its preferred fund families list effective January 11, Edward Jones spokesperson Jackie Knolhoff confirmed to The MFWire. The list now carries eight fund families. St. Louis, Missouri-based Edward Jones has dealer agreements with a total of more than 200 fund families.

Boston-based MFS is currently searching for four additional wholesalers to join four salespeople dedicated to Edward Jones reps, according to MFS spokesperson John Reilly.

Aside from the Edward Jones-focused wholesalers, MFS has 45 other wholesalers who work with Edward Jones and independent broker-dealers.

Commenting on MFS' addition to the preferred partner list, Knolhoff noted that MFS' funds are well-diversified across multiple asset classes and "their overall lineup of funds has provided good performance over the long-term."

She added: "They've demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting our Financial Advisors."

MFS has been on Edward Jones' platform since 2006. Now, it has joined seven other firms on the preferred fund families list: American Funds Franklin Templeton, Goldman Sachs Funds, Hartford Mutual Funds, Lord Abbett Funds OppenheimerFunds and Van Kampen Investments.
