Fidelity's Murphy Makes Her First Major Hire

The head of Fidelity's personal investing division, Kathy Murphy, has tapped Richard Blunck to run the personal and workplace investing online channels group. The news was first reported by The MFWire's sister publication, The 401kWire, on Thursday.

Blunck will start working at Fidelity on January 11 and will be based out of Smithfield, Rhode Island. He will take over from Parrish Arturi, who has served as the online channels group's interim chief. Arturi will continue to have a key role within the group.

Blunck has worked at Kmart and Washington Mutual and currently serves as senior vice president for Internet at mobile strategy at JPMorgan, which bought WaMu last year.
