Brad Ross arrived at Ivy Funds Distributors six years ago as Waddell & Reed was launching the Ivy Funds brand and the wholesale distribution channel. Ross built out the external wholesaling team from seven salespeople in 2003 to 40 this year.

Assets in the wholesale channel have grown to nearly $30 billion from about $1 billion in 2003. Though the Asset Strategy and Global Natural Resources funds continue to attract the lion's share of flows -- the two funds account for 75 percent of total sales -- Ivy has been seeing meaningful flows in five other funds, including the High Income, Limited-Term, International Core Equity, Large Cap Growth and Science & Technology funds.

Earlier this year, Ross and his boss, Ivy Funds Distributor president and CEO Tom Butch, were the recipients of the Sales Success of the Year Award handed out by Fund Action and Fund Direction.

Ross joined Ivy following a stint as national sales manager at ING Funds.
