Expense Ratio Hike at Vanguard Wellington is the First Since at Least 1975

In Morningstar's Fund Times column, Courtney Goethals Dobrow notes that the Investor class expense ratio for the Vanguard Wellington Fund will go up this year from 29 basis points to 37 basis points.

"At first glance, this seems like a modest uptick and is still extremely low for the large-value category," she wrote.

Goethals Dobrow also pointed out that the increase is the first since at least 1975. (Morningstar's data on the fund dates back to that year.)

Vanguard Wellington has been around since 1929.
