Evergreen Promotes from Within

Evergreen Investments has named Joseph Karpinski to be its director of Taft Hartley sales consultant relations, a spokesperson with the firm told the MutualFundWire.com. This is an internal promotion. Karpinski will continue on in his current post as director for the Mid-Atlantic Region as well.

Karpinski will report to Pat O'Brien, president of institutional asset management for Evergreen Investments. This is a new position at the firm, and the executive will be charged with maintaining relationships with consultants and financial advisors who are in the Taft Hartley market.

Karpinski's appointment follows closely on the heels of those for Elizabeth Barrett, director of consultant relationships, and Sarah Morton, managing director for consultant relations, who have recently joined the consultant relations group as well.

"My primary focus will be on ensuring that the consultant community understands the wide array of investment products and vehicles that Evergreen can offer Taft Hartley clients," stated Karpinski. "For example, several of Evergreen's products, including our small cap value and fixed income offerings, are exceptional investment options and will serve the Taft Hartley market well."

"He joined our firm a few months ago. To refine our capabilities, we created this opportunity for him in the Taft-Hartley arena," the spokeperson reported. "This move, though, is a part of our overall consultant relations effort across a number of product lines. Sarah Morton will be heading up our consultant relations program. It is part of their role to get out the Evergreen story about our institutional capabilities."
