A Switch and a Merger Headline Morningstar Round-up

There are two items of interest in Thursday's Morningstar Fund Times column.

First up is a manager change at BlackRock. Neil Wagner, manager of the BlackRock Small Cap Growth Equity and the BlackRock Small/Mid Growth funds is leaving to pursue other opportunities. Co-managers Andrew Thut and Andrew Leger will continue running the fund.

Also, DWS Scudder is planning to merge its DWS Small Cap Value fund into its DWS Dreman Mid Cap Value. Morningstar applauds the move, saying that the fund posted a negative 20-percent return for the year ended May 28. The roughly $150 million in assets will be rolled into the DWS Dreman fund, sub-advised by value investing legend, David Dreman.
