A Newbie Coal ETF from Van Eck is Off to a Volatile Start

In Tuesday's Wall Street Journal Fund Track column, John Spence took a look at the a two-week old Van Eck ETF that tracks the coal industry. The Van Eck Market Vectors Coal ETF, which made its debut on January 14, has bounced between $32 and $42 a share, underscoring the coal industry's volatility and risk. Other topics covered in the column were Monday's announcement that Ronald Dewhurst will become Legg Mason's head of international asset management, and the reopening of the Dodge and Cox Stock Fund and Dodge & Cox Balanced Fund, which took effect yesterday.
