The new offering seeks total return consistent with preservation of capital, and dynamically allocates across the broad sectors of the U.S. investment-grade bond market, including U.S. Treasurys and agencies, mortgage-backed securities, corporate debt and asset-backed securities.

Calamos Investments announces the launch of the Calamos Total Return Bond Fund, a broadly diversified fixed-income portfolio with opportunistic sector allocations designed to provide greater flexibility in managing risk and reward.

Seeking total return consistent with preservation of capital, the Fund dynamically allocates across the broad sectors of the U.S. investment-grade bond market, including U.S. Treasurys and agencies, mortgage-backed securities, corporate debt and asset-backed securities. Complementary allocations may include high-yield securities, international bonds and currencies, among others. The Fund can also tailor its credit and interest- rate exposure via derivative-based strategies.

"The launch of Calamos Total Return Bond Fund continues our tradition of providing investors with innovative strategies that dynamically blend investments to manage risk and enhance return potential," says John P. Calamos, Sr., chairman, chief executive officer and co-chief investment officer.

The Fund draws upon a time-tested investment philosophy and a deep bench of experienced professionals. Co-Chief Investment Officers John P. Calamos, Sr. and Nick P. Calamos, CFA, who have managed assets together for more than 24 years, lead the firm's integrated team of more than 60 investment professionals. The team also benefits from state-of-the-art technology resources.

Matthew Toms, CFA and Director of Fixed Income, will play a leading role within this Fund's management team. Mr. Toms has portfolio management experience in multiple fixed-income strategies, including core, core-plus, high-yield and global bond portfolios.

While the Calamos Total Return Bond Fund is primarily a domestic portfolio, the Fund's investment team analyzes the U.S. bond market within the broader context of the global marketplace. "The Fund's broad scope will allow for the implementation of multiple investment themes and performance drivers," says Mr. Toms. "By dynamically blending the substantial global investment insights available across Calamos Investments, the Fund seeks to achieve excellent risk-managed returns."

Demonstrating an established and clear alignment with the interests of investors, Calamos Holdings LLC has invested $30 million in the new Fund.

Important Information about Risk

The Fund invests in lower-rated securities, which present greater risks than investments in higher-rated securities. That is because there is lower- rated securities that may default on income and principal payments.

There is no assurance that any derivative strategy used by the Fund will succeed.

You should also know that the Fund may invest up to 35% of its assets in the securities of foreign issuers. As a result of political or economic instability in foreign countries, there can be special risks associated with investing in foreign securities, including fluctuations in currency exchange rates, increased price volatility, and difficulty obtaining information. The Fund may invest in securities issued by companies in emerging markets; these may present additional risk due to the potential for greater economic and political instability in less developed countries.
