Is Your Shareholder Communication Worthy of A STAR?

The Mutual Fund Education Alliance needs your help, fundies. After you vote for the Top Influencers on MFWire, you can click here to submit your best nomination material to be considered for MFEA's annual STAR awards.

"We are proud to have created a recognition program for funds that stands on its own; there are no other similar competitions out there," Michelle Smith, Managing Director of the MFEA told the MFWire.

The awards, which are presented in three classes based on assets under management, have 28 separate categories.

The top award is the Overall Communications Award, presented to the top firm in each asset level for excellence in communication in multiple media. Last year’s overall winners were Wells Fargo Advantage Funds, John Hancock Funds and Oak Associates Funds.

New this year is the Wild Card category. Smith elaborates "This year we wanted to add a category for an effort that does not fit into any other categories that speaks to shareholders in a unique and special way."

Winners will be announced during the STAR Awards Presentation Dinner on October 24, 2007 at The Mid-America Club atop the Aon Building in Chicago.

Nominations for this award should be submitted by fund company. The deadline for entries is July 10, 2007.
