Franklin Strikes With A Balance

We knew from an April SEC filing that Franklin Templeton Investments had in the works a fund mixing corporate, foreign and government bonds with dividend-paying stocks and convertible securities. On Monday the San Mateo company officially introduced its Franklin Balanced Fund, which will aim to keep 60 percent of assets in equity and 40 percent in fixed income, with a minimum of 25 percent in each. The fund's benchmarks are the S&P 500 and the Lehman Brothers U.S. Aggregate Index.
