AIM Names Health Care Funds Manager

AIM Investments has named Derek Taner as its new lead portfolio manager for two of its funds.

Derek Taner, a 13-year industry veteran, assumed the role of lead manager of AIM Global Health Care Fund and AIM Advantage Fund effective yesterday. He took over from Michael Yellen, who has taken on the Tokyo-based post of senior research analyst.

Taner also took Yellen’s spot on the management team of AIM Multi-Sector Fund, joining William Keithler, Mark Greenberg, John Segner, and Michael Simon.

Prior to joining AIM Investments and the management team of the health care funds in 2005, Taner served as lead manager for Franklin Templeton’s health care fund.
