Amex Taps NYSE Pro as ETF Marketer

The American Stock Exchange has tapped a marketer to help grow its ETF Marketplace. Richard Russo joins the Amex from Aprilante & Bomba, where he was a senior vice president and director of business development. He will report to Cliff Weber, senior vice president of the ETF Marketplace.

The Amex has identified ETFs as an area of potential growth and is pushing to add more listings. Exchange officials said that Russo will be responsible for order flow and product marketing for the ETF product line.

Neal Wolkoff, chairman & CEO of the Amex, said that the Amex ETF team has led the industry in innovation and that Grasso's skills will contribute to its "deep pool of talent."

At Aprilante & Bomba, a NYSE member firm, Russo worked extensively with equity and equity derivatives products at both the exchange and practitioner level with positions at the NYSE and the New York Futures Exchange, said Amex officials. He was also responsible for developing new business and markets for NYFE futures and options.

For the past nine years, he has been instrumental in developing new business, as vice president and partner, and senior vice president, respectively, for two NYSE floor member firms, added Wolkoff.
