Tacoma, Washington-based Russell Investment Group has awarded two large-cap equity mandates to Transamerica Investment Management. Transamerica will manage the Large Cap Diversified Plus Mix and Large Cap Growth Diversified Plus Mix of Russell's separately managed account program.

Transamerica becomes the 15th manager in the program, replacing Marsico Capital Management. Russell's program has $650 million in assets under management and is distributed via Fidelity Investments Institutional Brokerage Group's platform.

Russell engages in "constant researching, evaluating [of] managers," said spokeswoman Jennifer Tice. She noted that "Transamerica was a better fit...[but] we still have Marsico in several of our institutional funds."
